At the Gartenhotel Theresia, our green philosophy is at the heart of everything we do. Our guests are only served dishes made from ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients. The head chef and his kitchen team ensure that these dishes not only taste delicious, but that they are also a feast for the eye. In 2002, the four-star superior Gartenhotel Theresia was the first hotel in this local region of Salzburg Land to voluntarily undergo elaborate organic certification. Even today, our hotel is the only certified organic hotel in Hinterglemm and the only business in the local catering industry to carry the offical Austrian organic label.

With 57% percent of arable land used for organic farming, Salzburg Land exceeds any other region in Austria and even in the EU. We are proud of this and want to share it with our guests wherever possible.

Austria Bio certification

At the Gartenhotel Theresia guests can look forward to organic food at its finest. Here you can be sure everything labelled "organic" really is. This is because we are a certified organic hotel and gastronomic destination constantly undergoing unannounced inspections by the official inspection body Austria Bio Garantie (Code AT-BIO-301). 

We are also a partner of the Austrian association for the promotion of organic farming and production, Bio Austria. Consequently, we use local organic produce wherever we can. Only officially certified companies and service providers are allowed to use the Bio Austria label and seal.

Salzburg breakfast

  • Early morning tea and coffee served in the hotel foyer from 5:00 to 7:30

  • We are committed to creating a gourmet experience regardless of your dietary requirements. We want every guest to enjoy their food, even when suffering from an allergy, lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance or coeliac condition, cholesterol problems, diabetes or other medical issues.

Healthy and hearty breakfast

Early risers can enjoy coffee and tea in the hotel lobby before the restaurant opens at 7:30. Those who like to sleep in will be pleased to know that we offer breakfast in bed until midday. All our ingredients are sourced from local farmers and producers: milk, butter, eggs, yoghurt, honey, jam, fruit, vegetables, fish, freshly poached salmon and much more besides.

Front cooking & sweet treats

Our chefs enjoy "front cooking", i.e. preparing certain dishes to order in front of the guests. We also offer a wide range of breads and rolls as well as fresh French croissants and pastries.

Fine coffees and teas

Coffee lovers can look forward to a hot cappuccino, latte macchiato or espresso made from Fair Trade coffee beans. We also have Fair Trade cocoa as well as a wide selection of teas. Or why not treat yourself to a glass of fresh juice or sparkling wine at breakfast - after all, you're on holiday!
