Relaxing family holidays in Austria

The best holidays are full of action, adventure and relaxation – that is something all the family can agree on! How about a day exploring the hotel garden? Or mountain biking in the Alps? Or hiking to one of the nearby peaks? There really is so much to see, do and explore here in the Salzburg Land region of Austria that families with children will be spoilt for choice. The best way to start the day is with a healthy and hearty family breakfast. Youngsters can then head off to the kids' club packed full of fun activities like searching for berries in the garden, playing games together with other children and learning how to bake. At lunchtime they can enjoy lunch with our childcare expert.

Afternoon activities include face-painting, swimming and arts & crafts.  A cake buffet awaits in the afternoon at our cake and ice cream buffet before it's time for a dinner prepared using organic produce from the region. Sounds like fun? Let's go!

Water, water everywhere!

Aqua adventures at the Gartenhotel Theresia

The water in our swimming pools and throughout our hotel is softer than average. We also use only minimal chlorine in our pools, which are filled with fresh spring water enriched using the Grander technique to prevent skin irritation.

Activities for kids in the region

Lots to see, do and explore in Salzburg Land

Your family holiday should be unforgettable, which is why we in Saalbach Hinterglemm keep coming up with new attractions and offers for young and old, because we know: When the children are happy, the whole family is happy! Fun, excitement and a portion of adventure: on Montelino's adventure trail at Kohlmais, kids help Montelino the clown to find his toys and friends, while at the bottom of Kohlmais young bikers make their "first steps" in the new Learn To Ride Park. The Mount Kodok on the Reiterkogel, the nice clown needs thed kids' help to get back his cap, which has stolen the grumpy goblin Kodok.
At the end of the valley in Saalbach Hinterglemm, you can't help but be amazed: a true paradise of leisure activities awaits children and parents to discover and conquer - from the Wildlife Trail to the High Rope Park, from the Treetop Path to the "Golden Gate Bridge" in the Alps, from the Teufelswasser (devil's water) to the Holzschnitzpark (wood carver's park)... And for refreshment in between, 3 rustic alpine huts invite you.

high-rope adventure park

The high-rope adventure park at the end of the valley has several courses and platforms between 3 and 40 metres above the ground. It is a great place to test your nerve, balance and dexterity. The courses require a mixture of climbing, balancing, jumping and sliding.

The "mega course" has three huge rope slides (up to 70 km/h and 100 metres off the ground) where visitors can whizz over the Saalach river.
