The exceptional ambiance of an exceptional hotel!
After a long, intense re-construction phase, our goal for the 4-star superior Gartenhotel Theresia was to present the new, modern Austria – without compromising our family’s and region’s traditional roots!
The new Gartenhotel Theresia****Superior is not meant to be a neo-rustic hotel in the "gingerbread house" or "alpine baroque" style. Instead, it should be a wonderful, Austrian holiday hotel that delights and surprises guests with high expectations with its design, art
, authentic tradition and feeling of well-being. It should be a place where guests can recharge their batteries and recover from the stresses of everyday life. The hotel reflects the personal taste of the Brettermeier family.
Together with our Viennese architect Gustav Pichelmann and his team, as well as our staff, we are very excited that for the first time in 30 years, the PROVINCE OF SALZBURG ARCHITECTURE GUIDE "Architecture in Salzburg since 1980"
, published in September 2010 by "Initiative Architektur", includes 130 objects in the city of Salzburg and 125 in the province districts – from single-family homes to historical palaces and industrial complexes. As one of 26 establishments in the Pinzgau region of Salzburg (and the only hotel in the Glemm Valley!), the Gartenhotel Theresia is featured on an entire page with a photo and the description: "...old and new intertwined and – instead of rigid renovations ideology – are kindly and resource-consciously built".
In December 2003
the entire ground floor of our hotel was renovated in "design hotel" style and the large, newly built fitness centre was opened. A further renovation phase in November 2004
included beautiful design rooms and completely newly designed "bath oases" in all 2- and 3-room suites
. The stairwell, hallways on all floors and the entire basement undertook a complete renovation as well.
Starting in November 2005
, all bathrooms sparkled with unique materials, elegant design and a cosy atmosphere! The 2- and 3-room suites delighted guests with their new, modern design – thus ending the renovation of the Gartenhotel’s rooms and suites.
At the same time, our entire indoor wellness area
and sauna area
) got a complete "facelift" which matched the new design of the Gartenhotel.
Also: the cosy Swiss Pine restaurant
and the traditionally-styled living-bedrooms and family suites
("Zwölferkogel" and "Gaisstein", with beautiful hand-painted farmhouse-style furniture and colourful materials in warm, sunny tones), as well as the bright, very popular 3-room "Alpengarten" suite
on the top floor of the hotel with lovely 250-year-old-plus natural wood floors, prove that "MODERN DESIGN and TIMELESS TRADITION" can be perfectly combined!
"Gallery for Modern and Contemporary Art"
- also great for small conferences, as a meeting room or as a unique, intimate setting for birthday and anniversary parties or other special occasions.
The hotel hall received 2 new open fireplaces – created with local natural black shale – therefore making it cosier as well as more stylish.
Addition of 4 simplistic, high-class suites with excellent views
– luxurious holiday accommodation for 2 guests with high expectations – and 2 designer single rooms/small double rooms (approx. 25m2
) that can be combined with a suite to make a large holiday accommodation.
2007 + 2008:
Besides all of the above-mentioned renovations which can be seen by our guests, we also took massive sustainability measures for the environment and resources
in 2007 and 2008.
New design in our spa and wellness area
All 6 treatment rooms as well as the solarium, meditation and serenity pyramid were re-styled.
With the new, luxurious, 80m2

, our hotel now housed a total of 5 design suites with beautiful mountain views for 2 – 6 guests.
"Facelift" for the bright, airy fitness studio with panoramic views
(on the first floor of the Gartenhotel) with ultra-modern techno-gym fitness equipment.
October + November 2010:
The "Mountain Green Spa
" was created ...
All rooms and suites were equipped with new, large flat-screen TVs.

The 5 "tradition" living-bedrooms
(with painted farmhouse-style furniture and Swiss pine walls) facing the garden received beautiful wood floors made of local oak as well as new chairs and desks.
