Experience Nature In Style

Theresia Gartenhotel, a luxurious 4*plus alpine bolt hole in Saalbach-Hinterglemm has it all: Sustainability, the personal touch, its own art gallery and enriched diversity for the whole family.

NEW 2010 - The Saalbach-Hinterglemm JOKER CARD
Stay at the Gardenhotel or Apartment Hotel Theresia and receive a free JOKER CARD offering unlimited use of cable car lifts across Saalbach-Hinterglemm, the Montelino’s adventure trail on the Kohlmais, Devils Water and access to ten guided walks per week or wild flower trail on the Reiterkogel.

Private art collection
The jewel of the hotel is the gallery of contemporary and modern arts. What’s more: Displayed throughout the Hotel Theresia is a collection of upcoming artists from all over the world, including Andy Warhol and Hermann Nitsch. Harald Brettermeier, the owner of the hotel, will be pleased to show guests around and explain the masterpieces to interested guests.

The Gourmet Hotel
The Gartenhotel Theresia ****Luxus sets itself high ambitions with fully organic cuisine at every meal. After all, Salzburg is the region with the largest proportion of organic farming (about 50 %) in the whole EU. It offers dishes created using solely organic products throughout the day. Guests can sample this high quality and learn about the origins of the produce first hand on excursions to local organic suppliers. Austria’s official authority for monitoring the authenticity of organic produce performs unannounced checks on the organic food used in the hotel, on suppliers and on the origin of the products. The Gartenhotel ****Luxus has been a certificate holder since 2002. On top of that, it has been awarded the “Grüne Haube” (“Green Toque”) – an Austrian quality seal of culinary excellence based on regional, mainly organic, products. Gault Millau has even selected the Theresia’s cuisine as one of the ten best gourmet cuisines at Austrian wellness hotels.
The Theresia’s rates include full and unlimited use of the in-house spa, a bulging organic breakfast buffet, lunch and five-course gourmet dinners, including vegetarian options, regional and international gala dinners.

NEW 2010 – Guided tours with Mrs. Brettermeier
Each week, hotel owner Mrs. Brettermeier guides guests to visit the local organic beekeeper or the highest altitude cheese dairy in the Salzburg province. Once guests understand how the process works, the exquisite honey and full-flavoured cheeses taste even better. Visitors learn where the ingredients come from and how they are quality-controlled.

The Sports Hotel
Nestled adjacent to the main gondola in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, the Theresia is perfectly placed to experience Austrian village life and action packed adventure such as mountain biking, hiking and golf. Saalbach-Hinterglemm lies at 1,050m altitude, and the highest mountain in the valley is the Gaisstein – at 2,336m, the highest grass mountain in central Europe. 400km of signposted, well-tended hiking paths and 50km of waymarked Nordic walking and running routes provide a safe environment for hiking. Mrs. Brettermeier is herself a former junior ski champion and has designed the hotel’s fitness programme. Activities take place in both the hotel’s own fitness studio and in the big outdoors.
Those who fancy teeing off amid a lush natural landscape will also find all their needs catered to. The Theresia is a founding member hotel of the Zell am See Golf Course (about 20 to 25 minutes away from the hotel by car) – here, hotel guests will receive a 25 % discount on green fees.

The spa hotel
If you want peace and quiet, time to re-group your thoughts and pamper both mind and body, the Theresia is the place. The spa is simply magnificent, with indoor pool and year-round steaming outdoor pool, saunas, Turkish baths, massage – and delightful mountain views. There are special zones for children but much of it is “whisper only”, reserved for adults. Enjoy the Quiet Pyramid, a glass temple for meditation, and the Feng Shui garden. The beauty and treatment areas are stunning, all with state-of-the-art facilities.

The Family Hotel
The year-round Kids Club entertains and cares for youngsters aged two years and over during the day and evening meals, while a babysitting service can be organised for under two’s. During July and August, the Theresia offers a Junior Club for teens aged 10 to 14. Families can stay in the main Garden Hotel, with its superior rooms and large suites and choose from modern décor, country house style, or the Aparthotel (linked by a heated corridor), which is a little livelier and boasts apartments comprising kitchenette and accommodation for up to nine persons.
